A recent survey has been done by Continental Tyres and they have found that the best drivers on the road are often considered to be the safest and the most considerate. Motorists, cyclists and even pedestrians believe that bus drivers meet all of this criteria and that they are the safest people on the road.
Those who want to become a driving instructor will find this especially interesting, as it means that most of the people who go on to drive a car are never actually considered to be the safest drivers on the road. A poll was done with over 1,000 people and all of them were from different groups. Bus driving doesn’t really make you a good driver however, but it does go to show that the majority of them really do care about others when on the road. Van drivers on the other hand, were considered to be the least considerate people and the least safe were actually cyclists.
According to the poll, the most irritating thing that you could possibly do is not signal and over 70% of people believe this. Other top annoyances include the fact that people use their mobile phones when driving. 74% of lorry drivers have stated that they have in fact used their phone when driving and 60% of car drivers do the same.
Taxi drivers didn’t appear to come off well either, as according to cyclists, they are the least considerate group. Those who want to become a driving instructor will find this especially interesting, as you may have seen some of this happen on the road.
Ultimately, things like using a mobile phone while driving and even failing to signal are the two biggest annoyances but they are also the most dangerous things as well.
