I have recently passed my Part three after my second attempt. I had my 5 hours compulsory training in between the two attempts with April. I found April to be very knowledgeable and she was very helpful to me.

She observed one of my lessons and gave me a lot of helpful advice on how to make it a more client-based session. April also helped me with the Q and A side of things.

April made me feel at ease and I was glad of her advice and council.

I have recently completed my training with Local and specifically the trainers April and Richard. Both were first rate and very welcoming. The team at local have guided me through the whole process with great support throughout.

 I owe a great debt of gratitude to the guys, who put up with my lack of knowledge, and nurtured my willingness to learn by channelling in the right direction at all times. This led to me passing my part 3 first time with an A grade. 

Can’t thank the team enough, my life has changed for the better, and its thanks to Local.

“When I learn’t to drive I really liked my instructor, he was enthusiastic and enjoyed passing his knowledge and skills on and it made me want to have that satisfaction. Once I got the opportunity to train to become a driving instructor I took it. I chose Local because they are well known in my area. Richard was my trainer, he had a laid back approach but at the same time made training sessions challenging, there was always a plan and objective to achieve in each session. I was lucky enough prior to my Part 3 to experience a test situation as I was the trainee used by Richard and April for their ORDIT exam. April was friendly and another expert trainer like Richard. My support from Local throughout my training was great, especially as the final exam style was changed by the DVSA just before I finished my training. I now happily have a franchise with Local driving school".

“I decided to train to become a driving instructor as I enjoy driving, meeting  people and wanted a career change. I picked Local as my trainers as they had been recommended to me by a driving instructor from another school. Richard my trainer is excellent and made training fun and always encouraged me even with some aspects that I found difficult – for example giving briefings.  Local have been very supportive from day one and I now am fully qualified  and have a franchise with them".

Successfully passed my standards check at Rotherham Test centre thanks to April.  I contacted April and asked if she could meet me and roll play as a student and observe if I was doing my job properly which she was happy to do.

The training I have received from Local has been exemplary, I met Richard for my part 2 training, I was nervous initially because the information I had received from my previuos training company wasn’t very clear on what was to be expected, from the word go Richard made contact with me and fully explained what was to happen and how the day would play out. Upon meeting Richard we had a discussion around my previous training and he explained to me that all is not what it seemed, we continued the training for the day and I felt that it was a very productive day and I learnt a great deal that really helped me get through my part 2

 

After successfully passing my part 2 I then asked if I could have local as my trainers for part 3, again I was given Richard, throughout the training he maintained professional and friendly and he helped me through the struggles and concerns I had, during my training I had the oppertuinty to meet April, who reassured me not to over think things and showed me a demonstration of a briefing with Richards help,  all the training sessions I received were  really useful and helped me prepare to go on to my trainee licence,  during the time of my training I was offered a rescue package from local wich I accepted, from thst moment I felt valued and reassured that any help I required would be given without question. 

 

Overall the experience I had with Local driving school was one of which could only be described as excellent!

I started training to become a driving instructor 12 months ago, and after plenty of searching, I decided to train with Local Driving School. 

 

From my very first assestment to passing my Final Exam I have had never ending support from everyone at Local, especially my trainers, Richard and April. 

 

Richard and April’s knowledge, expertise and professionalism is above and beyond. They have been there for me every step of the way. Offered encouragement when I have doubted myself and more than anything supported me and guided me through the whole process. They have given advice, which has been invaluable and from lesson plans to teaching skills and everything in-between, they have been amazing. They have been great mentors and friends. 

 

The whole team at Local are so supportive and understanding. They have helped me with everything they said they would, and really are an amazing company to work for. 

 

I can’t recommend Richard, April and Local enough.

“I had always wanted to be a driving instructor so in 2016 I decided the time was right  for me to pursue my dreams. I trained with Local because a school friend worked and trained for them. Unfortunately my friend wasn’t available to do my training  but I was allocated April who did the majority of my training with assistance  from Richard. They were both very knowledgeable, professional and down to earth people who made learning fun and were always very approachable. They answered any queries I had and taught me in a way I could understand my objectives. Throughout my Part 3 training I was made fully aware of how my test would be conducted and also my role of an driving instructor.  When I qualified I decided to take a franchise with Local because in part of how well I had been looked after during my training. I would recommend Local to anyone wishing to change their career".

“I was recommended to April at Local with regards to training to become a driving instructor. I found the Part 1 very straight forward in passing but the part 2 was very different to what I imagined. In my initial drive I was shocked to discover how out of date my driving techniques were along with my knowledge of the Highway Code.  With April’s knowledge and her way of training I was able to retrain my driving style to meet the standard required by the DVSA. The hardest part was preparing for my Part 3, I didn’t realise how much time and effort was required at first, although my trainers kept telling me.  Richard my trainer did the bulk of my final stage of the training but with a sizable input from April. Both were very supportive and encouraging  in their approach to my training requirements, without their expert knowledge I wouldn’t be where I am today. I would definately recommend Local to anyone wishing to pursue a new career in the driving instructor world". I am now enjoying working with the Local team on a franchise".
