A study has been done by Nissan and this suggests that millions of drivers in Britain feel very anxious about driving on the motorway. The motorway became the second biggest skill that people lack confidence in and drivers also hate parking as well. Over half of the drivers who were interviewed stated that they felt nervous driving between a car and another lorry when on the motorway and nearly half have stated that they feel on edge when overtaking lorries and other very large vehicles.
Nearly half of the people who were surveyed have also admitted that they have taken a smaller road so that they can try and avoid the busier routes. 1 out of every 26 people have also said that they will go 26 miles or more out of their way to try and avoid the motorway. If you taking driving lessons Doncaster or if you are currently undergoing driving lessons Sheffieldthen you will know more than anyone how daunting it can be to drive on the motorway and this is especially the case when the time comes for you to go on there for the first time.
Nissan did the study to try and promote their new driving technology. This is otherwise known as being the ProPILOT technology. The managing director of Nissan has come out to say that it is concerning that people feel this way and that they are so fearful of multiple lane driving. With modern vehicle technologies playing a key role in supporting the driver experience, it is safe to say that more needs to be done to try and give people the experience they need when they are out on the road. With companies like Nissan looking to change this, they could be leading the way for other companies as well.
